Week 1-2

Kumusta po Kayo everyone.

How is it going? The MTC is good.  At first time went really really slow and it felt like after the first two days I had been there for two years haha.  Now time is starting to fly by.  My days are long and consist of class, personal study, companion study, eating, and gym.  The schedule usually changes so it's not the exact same thing every day.

I am going to Bacolod, Philippines.  I am learning how to speak Tagalog.  It is a weird language but I am starting to get it.  It is kind of like a mix of Spanish, Tongan, Hawaiian, or that's what it seems at least.  The words are big and have a lot of syllables.  My companion is Elder Hagen.  He is from New Hampshire.  He is a cool kid and has a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ.  He was a swimmer in high school.  He looks like Frodo Baggins ha ha.  The other two kids in my room are from Tooele and New Zealand.  They are cool kids and have strong testimonies.  We all arrived at the MTC on the same day.  One of them was our district leader, but he went home to fix up some problems in his life.  He already had a call to Bacolod and didn't come so they held his call for a year, then he came but had to go home, they said they would hold his call again so I hope he comes back.  If he does I will see him in Bacolod.  I admire his courage and know he is doing the right thing.  You can be a much better missionary when everything is in order in your life.

I have had the opportunity to give two priesthood blessings since I have been here.  One to my roomate for strength to come back on a mission. One to a sister in my district for peace and support.  I am thankful to hold the same priesthood as Jesus Christ.

I now have two companions.  We have taught five lessons in Tagalog to someone pretending to be an ivestigator of our church.  The language is coming. I can pray and bear my testimony in Tagalog and say other things.  I am working hard and trying my best to be a good missionary.  A mission is hard, but it is worth it because I know I am here for the right reasons.  I am here to bring people the truth of why we are here on this Earth and to help them know Jesus Christ is their Savior.  Time is starting to fly by.  I hope all is well.  Love you all.
